There are a lot of ways to decorate your walls, such as painting and putting on wallpapers. However, a smooth wall surface might look boring. Nowadays, a lot of people choose to decorate their cement walls by adding textures on it. One of the most popular wall texture is made using kamprot technique.

Kamprot is a technique of layering walls with rough plaster layer. The cement mix is thrown through sand mesh sieve onto the wall and left to dry without smoothing the surface. This technique results in a rough textured wall. Textured walls made using kamprot technique will create a beautiful shadow effect. When the wall is exposed to considerable light, the light to dark gradation will further accentuate the texture. To achieve a beautiful, durable concrete wall with strong adhesion, you will need a premium quality cement, such as Semen Merah Putih. Moreover, the texture of cement grain also determines the final result. More refined grain results in a smoother wall surface, and the other way around.

The rough texture produced by using kamprot technique might be too sharp. Therefore, put a layer of emulsion paint on top of your wall to reduce the sharpness and roughness. The thicker the paint is, the smoother the wall surface will be. Don’t forget to also pay attention to the lighting to accentuate the texture.
